| These volcano panoramas of Mt. Rainier allow you to view this magnificant volcano from many different angles. The highest of the volcanoes of the Cascades Mountains of Washington, Mt. Rainier has been deeply incised by the many glaciers on its slopes. Great backcountry skiing terrain is typically found on the non- or lightly-glaciated shoulders between adjacent glaciers, such as the Muir snowfield - Paradise Glacier area above Paradise on the south side, the Sunrise - Burroughs Mountain - Grand Park area on the NE side, and the Spray Park - Seattle Park - Flett Glacier area on the NW side. Some of these volcano panoramas were taken on hiking, rather than skiing, trips, and so do not show much non-glacial snow. Nonetheless, good backcountry skiing potential is evident in many of the images. More Mt. Rainier volcano panoramas will be added as they are produced. | |||
