Associated trip report: Well, with the pickin's getting slimmer and slimmer as the summer heat rolls on, we had to roll out the big guns. With 7 of the "chosen few" on the roster we convened on Paradise on the south side of Mt. Rainier. Charles (with Pete and Ryan), had prognosticated a late arrival with no worries, as he exuded confidence that they'd overtake the "old timers" before they made it to the goods... and he was right. We headed for the Paradise Glacier and found the object of our obsessions virginal (i.e. untracked) and awaiting our pleasure. Many summer skiing turns were had by all. There are more pics here and also here. Thanks, Gang, you were all great... And a special thanks to Mad Dog, who brought the BBQ and the hot dogs, and the Dutchess who brought the endless containers of fresh fruit!! It just doesn't get much better! Ron and Charles |
