In today's blog post, Cliff Mass writes that although this winter is most likely due to natural variability (not climate change), it is similar to what the climate models (which he does not dispute) are predicting for the Northwest in 2070:

In the more aggressive warming scenario, winters like this could be typical by 2050.

DG I noticed that too and got a little excited and then checked my excitement by reminding myself that never before have I been excited to see average conditions on an extra long range regional prediction
The limited pictures I took recently of Alpy (in the TRs) show some ~4k coverage but unfortunately I didn't pull out the camera near the base. Suffice to say, it's really really bad and for the lower reaches of Snoqualmie, Crystal, and White Pass, once the snow starts falling again it will almost be like starting the season over.
