I stand by my actions, the ski was not stashed, it was one lone ski, I noted it on the way up, and the way down. BTW, isn't it against NPS rules to stash gear? I'm pretty sure as a ranger you should probably write yourself a ticket or something.

Don't disturb our stashes!
(beer may be a reasonable exception but only a service fee of one beer IF you re-bury the remainder)

We found a K2 Shuksan with Dynafit on Mt. Hood today. I asked my ski partner Nick the age-old question:
Why do you only lose one sock or ski? ???
We turned it in to the ski shop at the day lodge.

Could be; it had a powder leash on it.
