Turns All Year CD-ROM is designed to be viewed on a personal computer using a standard internet browser. If you are having a problem with the CD-ROM, please read the information on this page. Also see the tips, FAQ, and technical pages.
- Slideshows don't work:
The slideshows on Turns All Year CD-ROM require your internet browser to have javascript enabled. If you find that the slideshows are not working, please check your browser's settings to determine if javascript is enabled (how to check settings). Please note that javascript is different from Java, which is not required for the CD-ROM. It is also possible that aggressive pop-up blocker settings could prevent slideshow windows from opening.
- Search doesn't work:
The search feature on Turns All Year CD-ROM requires your internet browser to have both javascript and cookies enabled. If your search does not seem to work properly, please try the following test: perform a search for the word [skiing].
- If this search returns 176 results, then the search feature is working properly.
- If nothing happens when you click the search button, then it likely that javascript is not enabled in your browser.
- If the search is carried out but returns zero results, then it is likely that cookies are not enabled in your browser.***
If your test search for the word [skiing] does not return 176 results, please check your browser's settings for javascript and/or cookies and make sure that both are set to be enabled (how to check settings).
***Safari users: In testing on Mac OS 10.3.x and 10.4.x, the search feature does not work using Safari browser, running either from the CD-ROM or from an installed copy. All searches return zero results and "undefined" in the search box. A workaround is simply to use a different browser (there are several good alternatives).
- Entire CD-ROM runs slowly on an older computer:
Older computers usually have slower CD-ROM drives. If the entire CD-ROM seems to run slowly on your older computer, you can probably increase the performance of the CD-ROM by installing it on your computer's hard drive. The installed CD-ROM occupies around 500 MB of disk space. Installation simply involves copying a folder from the CD-ROM to your computer's hard drive. - Can't see entire wallpaper photo without scrolling:
The wallpaper photos and their slideshows in the Wallpapers section of this CD-ROM are 1024 x 768 pixels in size. If you are using a smaller computer monitor (e.g. 15 inch CRT), you may be able to see only an 800 x 600 pixel area and so you will not be able to see the entire wallpaper photo on your screen without scrolling.
