Teanaway - Cle Elum Galleries
Don't go here to ski! In the Teanaway - Cle Elum region of the eastern central Washington Cascades, the season is usually short, the weather is bad, the snow is really bad, the skiing runs are boring, and the views are uninspired. Well, OK, maybe only one of these statements is true. Unless you have a snowmobile for access in the winter, the ski season in this area is constrained on one end by having to wait for roads to melt out, and on the other end by the melting of the snowpack, which does not accumulate as deeply as in areas closer to the Cascade Crest. If you go when the main road is still snow covered, be prepared for noise - this is snowmobile country.
